Haddon was a Birmingham born artist who it is generally thought spent time painting in Newlyn, Cornwall likely with other Birmingham artists as part of The Newlyn School such as Walter Langley and Edwin Harris. Haddon though focused his work on the people of the Cornish coastal communities and painted close, head and shoulder portraits, typically of seafaring men and women.Haddon exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
